New Project

I just found my next baking adventure, Cake Push-ups!

It is too quiet...

This morning Thad and I made the cutest cake pops.  My Sunbeam lesson is on water, so we are making blue cake pops with a teddy grahams tubing on top of a wave.  Very cute!!

While we were working on them we thought it was too quiet up stairs.  Austin was asleep but Taylor was upstairs playing.  As I am walking up the stairs I hear some little clanking coming from Taylor's closet, which has all her clothes and toys.  Looking in her closet I do not see Taylor.  The only thing I see are clothes swinging back and forth on their hangers, then I finally notice too little legs walking on her bookcase.  She decided to pick out her own church clothes.  The only way she could reach the clothes is to climb up the bookcase and stand between the clothes and the back wall of her closet.  She proceeded to walk on the bookcase until she found a cute dress, then got down and dressed herself. She is as happy as can be.

Gettysburg Address

Aiden learned the Gettysburg Address at school today.  Here is a video of him, he even has actions to go along with the speech.  It is amazing!
Taylor learned about George Washington today.  She informed us that he died when he was really old and that she misses him.  I love her so much!

Spring... almost

The weather has been so nice this weekend!  It has even got me "spring cleaning." My kitchen is almost completely cleaned.  I somehow came up with three large black garbage bags full of stuff we don't use.
We took some time out from cleaning to enjoy the weather outside.  We wore Rollerblades for the first time in 15 years.  I was amazed I did not fall, but I had the stroller to stabilize me. Aiden rode his scooter, Austin was in the stroller and Taylor on Thad's shoulders.

There are a lot of paved trails around our house that go all through Draper. We found a new trail on Saturday with some of our amazing neighbors. Sunday we ran into another neighbor at the local park. It was great!
We found out that just a few blocks from our house there is a home that has ponies and ostriches. Who owns an ostrich. The kids loved it! I am sure we will become good friends with the animals this summer.

I can not wait until spring is finally here.

New Names

Aiden and Taylor have decided they want to change their names.  They have request the following names:

Taylor is now Cinderella. She is a princess and wants a princess name.
Aiden is now Hawk.  He is naming himself after Tony Hawk, the skateboarder.

I came home this afternoon and Aiden had written Hawk on all his valentines for school.  Not sure what to do about that yet.

A Present for Papa

A few weeks ago we went Isabella's birthday party.  We had a lot of fun! After the party Aiden wanted to take one of the balloons home.  As soon as we walked outside he let it go saying "Papa Bray, this balloon is a present for you."  It was the only way Aiden knew how to get something to heaven.

Aiden Michael was named after my Dad, Michael John.  He was only 3 years old when my Dad died.  I am glad that he still remembers him and wants to give him a present.  Aiden remembers my Dad's favorite color. Everytime we see the color purple he reminds me that purple is Papa's favorite color.

We miss our Papa!!

Just for fun!!

Taylor is so cute.  She loves being a princess.
I will definitely not get "Mother of Year" award for this.  Austin was starving and I did not have anything but a french fry.  He hated it.  This picture is just after he tried it eating it.  At least I did wipe off all the salt and grease before giving it to him.
Cousins at one of my favorite restaurants, Spaghetti Factory!
Aiden loves gymnastics. He uses his skills he is learning everywhere he goes.

Sunbeams

This year I get to be Taylor's Sunbeam teacher.  I am so excited to spend every Sunday with her.  In addition, I have the best team teacher.  We decided we wanted to really make this year memorable for the kids.  It is so difficult to go from Nursery, where they play with toys and have snacks, to Sunbeams where they are expected to sit for 2 hours straight.

We made each kid a backpack with their name embroidered on it.  Inside they received their own Book of Mormon and Crayon Roll.

The kids have been so cute bringing them every week.  We have 6 adorable little girls and 1 boy. I have never seen a better class.

Austin's First Swimming Lesson

We wanted to start Austin in swimming early so he would not be afraid of the water.  Both Thad and I took off from work to experience his first lesson.  He was so amazing.  He enjoyed the water and had not problem going under or floating on his back.  Lennie, his teacher, said he was excellent.
Austin is ready for swimming.  He looks so cute in his new swimming suit.

He wanted to eat everything, including the side of the pool.

He would look back at his teacher.  She was only holding his head to help him float.

All three kids are going to be expert swimmers soon.  We love swim kids!!

Family Pictures 2011

We had family pictures this last weekend.  The weather was so cold.  We almost froze at Wheeler Farm.

After just a few shots we decided to find a warmer location and went to Trolley Square.  It was so much better there even with security getting mad at us since we did not fill out the appropriate paperwork before hand.  Here are a few of my favorites.

My two boys!  They love each other so much.

Yes, Austin is flipping us off. At least he is happy.
There were so many excellent pictures.  I could add so many more to the blog.

Austin Likes Rice Cereal

Austin tried rice cereal for the first time in January.  He absolutely loved it and enjoyed the spoon even more.  He likes to take the spoon away from whomever is feeding him.  We have found it best to give him an extra spoon for him to play with.

Since then he has had peas and sweet potatoes.  He really likes both, but has a hard time switching.  The first time he had sweet potatoes he gave an absolutely disgusted face as he was expecting peas.  After a few bites he is happy again.

We are still working on eating without getting it all over his face.
