Aiden is reading

I am so proud of my Aiden. he brought home his third book from Challenger this week. He brings home a new book almost every week that he has read all by himself. Challenger has been amazing. He is only four and knows the entire alphabet by sight and sound as well as actually reading books.

No More Ponytails

I have always had long hair, really long hair. Most of the time I wore my hair in a ponytail, because it took to long to do anything will it. I finally got brave enough, or too tired of ponytails, to cut my hair.

There is a company called Locks of Love that turns donated hair into wigs for children with permanent hair loss. I needed at least 10 inches to be able to send it in. After we had cut my hair, I measured how much we cut off. It was 15 inches. I could hardly believe it.

It has only been two days, but I love having short hair. Even though I do get moments of sheer terror that I cut off all my hair. So here is a new picture of me with short hair. I have never had my hair this short before, but it is fun and summer is almost here. That is if the snow will ever stop.

Let's go Fly a Kite!

We found some great kites at Costco and today was the perfect day for flying them. Taylor picked out an elephant and Aiden chose a fighter jet.

Flying the kites in our front yard did not work, they only got about 3 feet off the ground. So we the kids rode there bikes to the park at the end of our street. Taylor has not figured out how to use the pedals on the Tricycle yet, so I pushed her the entire way. It is a good thing it is not very far, my back still hurts from walking hunched over.

At the park the wind was great and the kites flew very high. The airplane was much better then the elephant, I should have guessed. Aiden even got attacked by a falling elephant. Both the kids were able to fly their own kites and loved it.

However, Taylor was much more interested in the slide. She is absolutely fearless and ran to the biggest slide. Luckily Thad was there to catch her.

We had a great Saturday afternoon and I think Taylor wore herself out.

We have a blog!

Hello Everyone!

I have finally decided to join the blogging world. I am totally new at this and have not a clue what I am doing, but I love reading everyone's blogs and realizing that I need to make our own!
